Pam Skinner, PhD

Dr. Skinner is an Associate Professor in the Department of Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences at the University of Minnesota. She directs a research program focused on understanding HIV and prion disease immunopathogenesis and the development of novel treatments for these diseases. Dr. Skinner has also created and teaches an Introduction to Biotechnology course. She is an advocate for women and minorities and works to resolve inequities in salary, promotion, retention, and representation in leadership positions. Dr. Skinner has been an EWIS advisor since its inception in the fall of 2016, and is one of the leaders of the Women’s Faculty Cabinet on campus.
