Pam received her Ph.D. in 2015 from Dartmouth College where she studied neuronal immune responses to herpes simplex virus. Pam has been a postdoctoral fellow in the lab of Dr. David Masopust in the Center for Immunology at the University of Minnesota since 2015. She studies the functions of pathogen-specific tissue resident memory T cells and has specifically focused on harnessing these functions as a cancer therapy. She was awarded an Irvington Postdoctoral Fellowship through the Cancer Research Institute for this work. Her long-term goal is to investigate the regulation and function of resident memory T cells, particularly in tissues vulnerable to immune-mediated pathology such as the brain, and to apply this towards developing novel immunotherapies and vaccine strategies. Pam hopes EWIS will provide the education, support, and resources to empower other women scientists to realize and achieve their goals, as it has for her. Her overarching goal through EWIS is to contribute to changing the climate of STEM fields to promote inclusivity and foster an environment where women-identified scientists can thrive. In her free time, she enjoys running and playing with her two cats and dog.
