Tania received her Ph.D. at the University of Rome “Sapienza” (Italy) in 2010 with a thesis on the use of antisense RNAs for the therapy of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. After a first postdoc at CIBIO- Center for Integrative Biology- of the University of Trento (Italy), where she studied neural and retinal commitment using induced pluripotent stem cells, in 2015 she joined Professor Rita Perlingeiro’s lab at the Lillehei Heart Institute, University of Minnesota. Her current work focuses on the generation of myogenic progenitors from pluripotent stem cells, and on their long-term engraftment potential for the therapy of skeletal muscle wasting disorders.
